Being a caregiver takes time and energy. You have to be willing to take on a lot of responsibility, so it's always easiest if you get organized first. You need to know a little about high blood pressure and a lot about the needs of the person you're caring for.   1. Know your loved one's medical history. What are their other medical conditions?
  2. Visit their doctor with them to find out about their medicines, and what lifestyle changes they are supposed to make.
  3. Gather information about home care and adult day care services, home-delivered meals, and help with everyday activities.
