"Empathy builds trust and is a potent motivator"1
One of the key points emphasized in the JNC 7 Report is that the most effective therapy prescribed by the most careful clinician will control hypertension only if patients are motivated. Motivation improves when patients have positive experiences with — and trust in — their clinician.
To help you provide additional support and education to your patients in managing their hypertension, the following resources are available for download and printing from this website:
Blood Pressure Log — Provides a review of the importance of measuring blood pressure, what the measurements mean, and a step-by-step guide to monitoring blood pressure at home. Additionally, a log is provided for patients to record their readings so they can provide the information to their healthcare providers at upcoming visits. (Available in PDF format, in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Russian languages)
Patient Education Brochure — This informative brochure for patients provides an overview of high blood pressure. (Available in PDF format, in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Russian languages.)
Benicar Patient Website — Additional patient support resources and information about Benicar/Benicar HCT and hypertension management can be found on the patient area of this website.
